What's for Dinner, Fri., Aug. 31, 2018

The appetizer is some Italian thing the RG learned about when he lived there and I can't recall the name. When I do, I'll edit the post, 'cuz it's kind of interesting. It's a way of serving vegetables in seasoned olive oil. Here's a pic I took:



The olive is mixed with herbs and other seasonings and put in the bottom of a glass. Then the vegetables are put in the glass; each person gets one so there are no concerns about double-dipping.

The main dish is lettuce cups, which will be filled with ground pork, water chestnuts, carrot, rice wine, ginger, garlic, etc.

A side dish is grilled asparagus.

Dessert is figs with balsamic syrup. Cold fruit plate with mango, apple, Asian pear.

Since it's Friday, a bit of the bubbly, my favorite Prosecco.

Veggie burgers with onions & tomatoes, melted Swiss cheese, spicy pickles. No buns so I plan on almond chocolate biscotti with decafe tea during the movie tonight.
