Related: About this forumTomato-Basil Red Lentil Chips
I got a bit of ambition this morning after being laid up sick for the past week with a cold, and made a batch of these.
They arent half bad, considering they are gluten free and do not contain oil. My adult sons both like them.
Here is the recipe I followed. As you can see, mine didnt come out as aesthetically pleasing as the photo in the recipe, lol. I already had all the ingredients on hand, except for the red lentils which cost me $3 for a one lb. bag, and that looks to be enough to make two recipes. Not at all difficult to make, but they take a little time, mostly from watching them closely during the second bake.

(8,204 posts)I think I will try making some, too. I even have red lentils in the pantry!

(32,042 posts)Except I added some chia seeds, since I had some on hand. They do have a little bit of spice to them.
They are indeed best eaten right after the second baking, because they don't stay crisp after a while. I made some for us to eat today and saved some for when my son and his girlfriend come over tomorrow (my son is into cooking and cooking healthy stuff). I plan to "second bake" the ones I saved right before they come over.
Hope you like them, femmedem!
