I am going to stud them with rosemary and garlic, then sear in cast iron. Will cook pine nut couscous ahead so it can cool. This will be a cold couscous, cuke, onion and feta salad with lemon oil dressing drizzled. Best chilled together for a while so gettig started soon. Picked up naan too. Will sorta grill that before cooking the lamb.

Enjoy your ladies nite. Did that Tuesday with a friend but we had tacos at our fav bar. Cheers!

Juicy Lucy style, with feta in the middle, with tzatziki sauce on Bosnian rolls. These Bosnian rolls are kind of like Vienna Bread, a chewy exterior and a white, somewhat chewy interior. They are about the size of a large grapefruit. And green beans dressed with a little olive oil and red wine vinegar.

I have been craving my ex's mother's home made veggie beef soup, so I tried my hand at it. Looked at a bunch of recipes online and then just eyeballed the ingredients to my taste. It turned out really well! Delicious, and very close to Mama J's.

It's going to be rainy here for the next few days, so the soup will keep me well fed and happy.

Also baked some bread to go with it.

I tried all kinds of vegetable beef soups and it wasn't until someone here recommended Better Than Bouillon and then on my own, I added tomato paste. Then I was satisfied.

and most of a box of beef stock. I love the better than bouillon chicken (and it's so handy!) but there's a certain flavor in the beef version I don't care for. Tried to place what it was but couldn't figure it out.

The biggest variation I saw in the recipes was the spices. I went with thyme, majoram, bay leaf, a pinch of red pepper flakes, then a handful of chopped fresh parsley at the very end. Also used a fair bit of the leafy celery tops in the mirepoix.

tomato-cuke-onion-dill-feta salad, salt-and-pepper kettle potato chips. cherry turnovers for dessert. I'm also having a beer to celebrate getting my taxes done a whole day early!
