What's for Dinner, Fri., June 14, 2019

Lamb shanks, which had been cooked with vegetables in the slow-cooker. The RG took out the vegetables and pureed them and made a sauce on which to serve them. It has a smoky flavor.

I will make a salad of tossed greens: I like to put chopped turkey bacon on it with Russian dressing. I'll put a few other vegetables in, like scallions, celery, and pea shoots.

Dessert will be a chocolate biscotti with Earl Grey.

I’m cooking for myself tonight and I’ve recently learned to make a single serving of shrimp and grits.

Barbecue-style ribs baked in the oven.

Corn-on-the-cob. Homemade cole slaw (we use olive oil instead of mayonnaise).

Orange sherbet for dessert.
