What's for Dinner, Mon., Sept. 9, 2019

The RG made two pates, so we're having half of one for dinner. Accompaniments: red onion, Dijon, sage leaves, and red onion slices. Wine for him; lemonade for me.

To go with, we harvested a few items from the garden: corn and carrots. The carrots were roasted with a little ginger syrup. The corn was a culinary success but a growing flop. It's kind of tough. The RG said they would probably revoke my Cornhusker license. He suggested we pretend it's hominy.

I made a tossed green salad to go with dinner--just the usual, sliced cucumber, red onon, carrots, red and yellow peppers.

Dessert is tea biscuits with whipped cream on them.

The sauce is homemade and so are the meatballs. Garlic bread. Brownies for dessert.

(My sauce is not a classic marinara. It's loaded w/ green peppers, onions and mushrooms.)

For Dad and Sis, beer brats, served w/ home fries and a stir-fry of cabbage, broccoli, carrots, red & yellow bell pepper, celery, onions and garlic.
