What's for Dinner, Fri., Sept. 13, 2019

The RG made the most beautiful tomato pie. I took a pic and if I can find an online spot to host it, I'll post it after I get off work. Unfortunately tinypics is out of business, but I think I might be able to post it at postimages.org. Of course he used my garden tomatoes to make it.

A community garden friend and I traded cucumbers for exotic tomatoes and the RG used them in the pie, too.
The ones she traded me are purple! They are the most interesting tomatoes to see on the vine. However, when ripe, they turn partly red.

For dessert, carrot cake, which I'm stopping at WF for on the way home from work.

I kept a couple of servings of the beans I made this morning, and we'll have those w/ a ham steak, some tomato wedges and some homemade bread.

(The recipe book calls this bread "Colonial Bread" and it is made w/ corn meal and molasses. I think I want mine toasted.)
