Synergy in cooking

Last edited Thu Nov 14, 2019, 06:31 PM - Edit history (1)

I was thinking that in cooking, maybe incorporating as much synergy as possible could make some fabulous cooking.

Two or more things together where the sum is greater than the parts. It came to mind believe it or not when I recently had the probably long forgotten Liptons dry onion soup mixed with sour cream for a dip. The combo of those two things makes a delicious sum.

Others ?

Mashed potatoes and gravy
Fresh tomatoes, basil, olive oil and salt
Fish and chicken with lemon and butter

Hot brown sugared bacon with cayenne
Roast pork with brown mustard

Ingredients coming together for a magical outcome!
Personally, my favorite combination is coffee and chocolate.

In my hometown. Delicious

I’d love to take a cooking class on what goes great together for a meal, aside from the individual parts
