Woke up to a dusting of snow and every once in a while look out and see some more coming down. Need something warm to keep the chill outside where it belongs!

Also quinoa with currants and spinach.

I'm using a new cookbook, The Lazy Gourmet, by Robin Donovan.
This cookbook has easy recipes.

I'm making this for tonight, since I have to work from 1:30-6.

Used to be our mild seasons had an arc. Now they are more like roller coasters.

Or, patties. Haven't decided yet. With South Beach Diet-style cauliflower mashed "potatoes" on the side.

Gale force winds and high seas. We got knocked around all night and everything is on the floor.

As we plan to move tomorrow, I was going to invite friends over for burgers. But having had no sleep and it still being to rough to clean up, I am just not in the mood for it.

Blech.

Didn't you just move to a new place where you could go on shore and BBQ or something? Or am I confused? (Highly likely)

Stay safe! I can't even begin to imagine the challenges you face with cooking on board.

which is idyllic most of the time.

We can go to shore and BBQ, but we don't generally leave the boat when the weather is really bad because we need to be there in case something goes wrong.

Anyway, I have a lot more good days than bad and it's always a challenge.

thanks so much for your good thoughts.

Prime rib, cubed, with gravy made from its drippings and sauteed mushrooms. Brown rice with dried/reconstituted cranberries. Pan-roasted asparagus.
