(1,706 posts)The recipe called for mung bean sprouts, which I don't care for, so I substituted shredded napa cabbage. That was good but I might have softened it in the hot broth a little first.
Dessert is some chocolates from a local shop

(95,252 posts)Lamb and spinach curry.
Lamb is cut off several chops, cubed fairly small, floured and browned in butter.
Onions , garlic, ginger, one chopped serrano pepper sauted in butter, spiced with coriander, cardomom, paprika, cumin, turmeric, cloves, cinnamon, one chopped serrano pepper, salt and pepper. Tin of diced tomatos and some tomato paste, water, vegetable boullion cube added. Bones with meat on go into this. After about fifteen minutes boil, and the browned lamb added.
After about an hour, add lot of spinach, frozen or fresh doesn't really matter, along with some garam masala, and after a bit more, add some plain yogurt.
Ladle onto a pile of basmati rice.
It usually comes out alright. I've done it often enough to do it from memory by now. The womenfolk like it.
