What's for dinner where you are?

1. chili

I think I might make chili and cornbread. Green salad.

2. Beef Stew. It's cold and rainy, and I got some great chuck on sale.

I made a great chicken/beef broth over the weekend so I'm going to use that.

I'll make rice with herbes de provence to go with it.

3. No cooking for me tonight, tomorrow night and Wednesday night.

I'm on my way into Manhattan for rehearsals for my staged reading on Wednesday night. Oh, what fun!

Writing novels is a lonely occupation and now that I am back in theatre, I'm having a wonderful time meeting new people. The more the merrier! Let me know when you're on your way.

4. Probably fish tacos again.

I was going to make an eggplant dish with the eggplant I bought a few days ago. But, I have a little bit of guacamole to use up, so I am going to just go ahead and eat it in tacos with one of the Gorton's tilapia filets in my freezer. I'll make the eggplant tomorrow.

5. Vegetable Lo Mein and a cuke salad

but I should have chili! It's been snowing all day, but mostly melting since it is 34 F. I think we are breaking a record for snow in April (this late date and so much). My m-i-l said she remembers snowflakes on Memorial Day back in the 60's!

6. Grilled steak and peppers, garlic mashed potatoes.

Whatshisname loves, loves, loves steak and brought home some filet that he found on sale yesterday....

so, I will cook it for him.

10. Meatball (pork) soup. Heavy marine layer here and drizzly, so it sounds good.

Or meatball cacciatore.

11. (follow up) The frozen zip-lock of pork was a cutlet, duh, so it's soup in the slow cooker.

With a chicken stock base, new potatoes, carrots, scallions, bell pepper, thyme, rosemary, etc.
Already smells good.

And a strip streak.

The hell with cooking. And it IS pie.
