What's for Dinner, Sat., Oct. 3, 2020

Arugula with pear and blue cheese

While I have broccoli planted, it's not ready yet. Found this incredibly fresh head of broccoli, which we'll probably cook with garlic and olive oil.

I can't recall ever buying such a fresh broccoli.

Cacio e pepe. Lotsa' freshly ground black pepper and a new cheese from the RG's new gourmet box shipment.

what a beautiful, showy mushroom.

The RG took a course in mycology when he lived in France. He would know how to do that but I wouldn't trust myself. I'll bet they were delicious breaded and fried.

I checked out the ingredients on your thread; I could make it but for one ingredient, the Saltines.

It is VERY yummy. The flavor surprises you, but I guess it shouldn't. My thought was that along w/ the tart of the lemon, I'd get a lot of saltiness. While you do get SOME salt, what you get more is BUTTER! (I guess 10 tbsp of butter will do that.) Then there's the sweet from the whipped cream. All together makes for a wonderful balance of flavor.

Will definitely make this one again.
