For starters, Spanish goat cheese and crackers.
Pork Milanese. The RG pounded it with a mallet , soaked it in egg, floured it, put back in the egg and floured it again. Browned it on both sides and put in the oven to finish cooking. Very tender!
Cannellinis as a side dish. Had chopped celery, pepper, onion, lots of olive oil and black pepper.
Golden beet salad with goat cheese and pecans; tossed spring greens. Lemon vinaigrette.
Dessert is a berry tart that I made. Has raspberries and blackberries over vanilla pudding and vanilla wafer crust.
Pomegranate kombucha and later ginger tea to drink with dessert.

(10,143 posts)I asked Mr. Retrograde to get some green beans when he was grocery shopping, and he brought back, well, a lot more than I expected. So I'm doing a green bean casserole with fresh beans, fresh mushrooms, and home-made sauce. The fried onions didn't come out as crispy as I would like, but they'll do.

(10,143 posts)I like green beans. I like mushrooms. I often make a white sauce with mushrooms for casseroles. Last night's green bean casserole was less than the sum of its parts. I'll stick to having my green beans steamed or dry sauteed.
