TIL-today I learned, Pain au chocolat is what in America is a chocolate croissant

And it goes well with English breakfast tea.
And if you put the pastry in a prewarmed toaster oven 300/3min while the tea steeps, well a nice snack on a dull winter Saturday.

pain au chocolat in France has a rectangular shape like a small sandwich. Croissant is crescent moon shaped and even with chocolate in it, its not called pain au chocolat.
I do agree with how delectable they are warmed up with tea.😋

Is the chocolate a bar running down the middle?

I always got one at Panera. I don’t frequent them any more but miss their very good choc croissant!

They have dark chocolate in them, and in the one I ate today, the chocolate bits were scattered.

It was the one and only outside of NYC, started by his (now former) business partner.

We had Illy coffee and Jacques would send Pain au chocolat and I had both every morning. While sitting at desk over looking the bay. Seriously the greatest job ever.
