That’s early! We’re getting very cold again, Siwsan. I think about putting some dry leaves around the babes may be a good idea. I know you’ve been a little warmer than here but that’s crazy.
I can hardly wait for the blooming pictures you take…beautiful.

4. Daffodils are incredibly cold weather resistant

These are the ones right by the house foundation. I've had them peeking up in January, before. I have yet to see any damage.

And, it looks like our weather is headed back into the 40's, next week! I just took an axe to the ice build up on the storm sewer, hoping to mitigate any ponding when this melt refreezes, tomorrow. Fortunately, I've NO plans to go anywhere until the roads are clear.

BTW, the Flint area's predicted snowfall has gone from 7" to a little over 3". Which means I'm hopeful we don't actually get a foot, or more. South of here could get hammered with icy slush. I'm betting some schools are closed, tomorrow.

Did not know that about daffodils, thank you. The snow we have left is like the bad frost you want to get out of the freezer except it’s very slippery. You guys got more snow than we did all winter.
Next storm, nada. Snow wise I’ve never seen this little snow mid-February here especially with none on the way. Unless we get good soaking rains this spring water table here will suffer a little.
Eh, may be able to get to the garden early.

7. The path I take to feed the ferals is now a total ice slick. I'm walking beside it, in the snow

Last thing I want to do is slip and maybe break something!

I just have a bad feeling that the street in front of my house is going to be a skating rink, by this time tomorrow. I'm going to check on that storm sewer, again, before the rain starts.

to stock up a little. The city there was chopping out the storm sewer covers. They must think we’re getting something.

Please be careful. You are one special woman taking care of those cats the way you do.

9. From the maps I've seen, this storm will stretch in a diagonal line, south to north, mid Mitten

Flint is on the edge of snow/wintery mix. But who knows. Michigan's weather never fails to surprise me.

And, thanks! I'll be extra careful when I head out, tomorrow, to feed the ferals. I think I'll head in from the OTHER side of the house.
