I have to admit I would not do it. It is a nasty death for these creatures, but it is natural and it won't hurt other larger animals.

Though it can impact plants too if you are trying to grow a garden.

He left a peanut butter jar lid full of beer in the backyard, in about an hour the beer was gone, and the family doq was wagging her tail very slowly. Mom even gave her a baby aspirin for her hangover.

Slugs hate slithering across the rough coffee grounds. I've also heard of sinking some sort of container and filling it with beer. Not sure if it's the aroma,or what, but they crawl to the cups and in they tumble.

Place aluminum pie tins with about 1/2” of cheap beer in them. The slugs will climb in and drink themselves dead drunk.

long as it will hold a cup or so of beer. (You can drink the unused portion of the six-pack) The slugs will crawl into the beer and, I guess, die happy.

To slugs it's like crawling naked over broken glass. The down side is it has to be reapplied periodically and doesn't work well when it's wet and tends to wash away, but it's quite effective in keeping slugs out of places you don't want them to go at least in certain circumstances. It's probably best used with other methods of control.

was to line your garden with railroad ties, the creosote in them is repulsive to slugs. No experience as to whether or not it works.
