Friday Horses -- Today Maddie's life so far (Pt. 1)

Laurie's Paint mare Maddie was born in May of 2005 around 2:00 a.m.

Mama Misty took good care of her.

At six months of age.

She was a cool filly.

Seen here with half-sister Kate.

As Maddie grew, she and Laurie worked together in the arena.

They went on lots of trail rides with friends. Sometimes Maddie was in the lead.

Occasionally Mommy gave her a trim.

Maddie liked to roll in the arena. What horse doesn't?

At times she would stand in need of a bath.

Laurie let her pastures grow for grazing. Maddie was okay with that.

The two worked in the obstacle course.

And even more in the arena.

Next week we continue with Pt. 2 of Maddie's life so far.

Yes, she was. Like all her babies, Laurie handled her right from the start. George McGovern 13 hrs ago #2

She was born at your farm then?

Gawd I wish my pastures looked like that! They're too eaten down, especially this time of year.

Well, our pastures used to look like that; but as time went on Laurie took to mowing them regularly. When I asked why, she said mowing helps control weeds, ensures new and tender growth and the horses like the new grass better.
Thanks Bayard!
