Related: About this forumThe two sides of Martini
Today I dozed off on the couch and when I woke up, it was past time for Martini's medication. As I was sitting up, Martini walked up to the couch and I said to her "It's time for your medicine; come with Mama." She turned and walked over to the stairs with me right behind her. She went up five steps and stopped, so I picked her up and carried her the rest of the way. She was totally calm, not struggling at all. Such a good girl! That was my sweet little pussycat.
When we got in the bathroom, she sat glued to the door and when I tried to give her her 3/4 of a pill, she turned into the Incredible Hulk. She was up on her hind legs, clawing and growling. She spit out the 1/2 pill (I assume she swallowed the 1/4 pill) and on the second attempt, she knocked the spoon clear out of my hand! That was my uncooperative, defiant wildcat.
I have to admit, deep down inside, I'm glad she still has so much fight in her. She still eats, drinks, uses the litterbox, plays, and loves pets, scritches and treats. I hope it continues for a long, long time. Having to struggle sometimes to get her pills in her is well worth it.
