Related: About this forumMy cat has turned into this adoring kitty!
She used to be a lot more aloof. But as she ages, she's become a lot more affectionate. In the evenings, I'll sit on the couch and watch movies on my laptop. She'll hop on the blanket I'm using to keep warm, lay on her side, and gaze up at me with these almost worshiping eyes. It's almost creepy!
Anyone else have a pet that does this?

(1,642 posts)She's two years old and follows me everywhere. If I'm sitting down, there's a high probability that she's in my lap. When I go to bed at night, she has to go under the blankets, look around, and comes out to give me a kiss. Then she curls up next to me and goes to sleep. She kisses me again when I wake up.
She has to be among the sweetest cats in the world.
(Animals love me. They seem to understand what I'm saying. It's weird.)

(4,247 posts)Mallory will wrap himself around my arm, gaze into my eyes, then rub his head against my face. Beauty will curl up on my shoulder, look at me, then snuggle her head down onto my shoulder and purr. Little Bit looks at me before jumping onto my shoulders and becoming a fur collar.

(6,107 posts)Gifted me her personal stamp of approval after each adoring visit....her drool in my lap.
She would drip like a faucet.
Currently, Petunia will do the lap scene and the curling around my head at naptimes while Cuddles reserves his greatest affections for our walks, and his thank you visit like clockwork every morning less than five minutes after he comes in. But he only does laps when we're outside. But all those examples are as doting as it gets and it's priceless every single time.
Maybe it's you that has changed, maybe you've tuned in to that Cat lovers wavelength that were all so familiar with lol.

(7,800 posts)while curled up in the crook of my arm. She died a year ago this past Ides of March. That glorious gaze both fills me with joy of remembrance, and the pain of the loss.
Today, I have a 6 mo old kitten my sister brought to me as a rescue. It was only a few weeks old at the time. This little black and white baby lays in my lap and looks at me the same way my Sweetie did. AND he plays fetch! (LOL)
