Related: About this forumIn a few days, I'm going to get a nice wooden box with Holly's ashes in it
and a plate with her paw print and name on it.
I have Bootsy's ashes in an ugly maroon-colored tin can with black paw prints on it and scotch tape over the top. I guess my former vet used a much cheaper cremation service.

(1,832 posts)You could always find a better box or lovely china urn and put Bootsy's ashes in it.
You can get nicely engraved little plaques online, too. I've done that for my furbabies when I didn't like
the box their ashes came in. Something to think about when you feel ready. Sending love and light.

(3,624 posts)You are most definitely not out of line for suggesting I could find a better container for Bootsy's ashes. As a matter of fact, I did look at boxes and urns online for several months after she died. The problem is I have never looked at her ashes and I never will. I just can't look at them. It's almost a phobia. Maybe one of these days, I will look into it again and buy a nicer container as long as I could get someone else to move the ashes into it. It's something to consider anyway.
Thank you again, HeartsCanHope.

(1,832 posts)The only reason I'm butting in, (so sorry,) is it really helped me to feel better. It still hurts that my
furbabies are gone, but I feel better that I got to choose where their ashes are instead of someone
else choosing for me. Can't explain why it feels so much better, but it does.
Love to you, MIButterfly, and lots of scritches and love to Martini.
