Toward the end of his life, he used to come on the bed and pet me on the head. Really. He was a great cat.

she recently came up on my desk and spent a few minutes head butting me and rubbing her head on my chin. Then she cracefully jumped down.

I am treasuring every minute with her now.

this was years ago--i was a teen and in my twenties. if she was with me on the bed or couch and i'd start crying she'd jump down and get the hell out of the room. i always figured she couldn't stand to see me so sad. we were very close. she died on my birthday--her final bonding moment with me.
