She had gone nearly blind and almost completely deaf toward the end of her 14 years with us. She had been having grand mal seizures. Her spirit was still strong (and so sweet) but her body was failing.
In the moment of her passing I closed my eyes to cry but instead had a vision: She was a lanky puppy again. Free of all the pain and challenges that come with growing older. She was running happily through tall grass. She wasn't running away from me and she wasn't running toward me. She was running parallel.
