(13,141 posts)and hopefully they'll be of help.
I have only known one African Gray parrot.
He lived at a pet store and stole my heart.
I hope yours is home soon, safe.

(11,065 posts)That really stinks. There seemed to be some good suggestions on that page though like checking nearby trees and putting his cage outside. I doubt he's gone very far, so I really hope that you find him.

(70,127 posts)i could only find recordings of the wrong kind of grey.
she probably wouldn't have gone far, but it was a pretty windy day. we had an eye on her for a while, but she launched from a limb and disappeared.
i've got the folks on a hyperlocal blog looking, so that should help.
mad that i couldn't go flyering today. my back is killing me from too many long days in a row.

(18,219 posts)When my macaw took off one time, I found her sitting under a hedge of shrubs on the next street over. It seemed that she wasn't able to fly up well. I hope you are as lucky as I was. I remember how frantic I was. Just don't think only "up" and "in trees". I searched for hours before I was looking so low.
Good luck.

(70,127 posts)we saw and talked to her for a while at the end of the block, and she was up high. she got away a very long time ago, and was stuck up in the trees because she couldn't fly down. she blends in awfully, tho, and is more likely heard.
if she were real close by, she would be home by now. i have looked and looked, and spent a big chunk of the weekend outside.
