Need advice for feral kitties ...

there are several kitties that have gotten used to eating food off my patio and even walking in and exploring my apt. I'm trying to get the youngest ones to the vet for shots and "fixing", but I need to move soon -- like in 2-3 days. Any advice for how to deal with transporting not-quite-domesticated kitties on a 3 hour drive, and how to keep them from running away after arrival ?

The only good option I can think of is kenneling them at the vet's, but I really can't afford that.

The first question is whether they can be tamed and become adoptable. If so, your nearest no-kill shelter will be the best thing for them. Kittens go "like hotcakes" compared to adult cats in shelters.

If they are truly feral then maybe there is another organization you could contact who could spay/neuter and release.
