(3,510 posts)150,000 strays in San Antonio? Happy for those 7 darlings, but the numbers of strays--staggering. How about a puppy bowl for every pro football game?

(15,222 posts)There are areas of town where you drive down a street and see dogs and cats starving and covered in mange.
There are areas of town where you see dogs on chains in the backyard without any shelter, and it has been down to 27 degrees with rain already twice this winter. Cats out in it with no where to go.
There are areas of town where dogs and cats are typically dumped when they are no longer cute and cuddly.
There are some of us who are trying to make a difference. And we're all crying and tired. Oh, how I wish people in this city would develop a respect for animals, but we are at least another generation off. There is a whole attitude that animals don't really feel pain, etc.
There are MANY transports currently trying to get dogs out of San Antonio and into homes in cities that don't have the problems that San Antonio has. If anyone ever considers adopting, please consider taking one of these dogs. PM me and I can get you whatever information you want or need!!!
