we're going to bury fat cat today

it was cold and snowy last week and the ground was too hard, but dad's day is free and it will be near 70, so we will return her to the earth. there are treats in the pocket of the coat she's being buried in and i will toss in a few of her toys. we picked a spot where she will be warmed by the summer sun and she will be joining a legion of our old friends in the back yard.

i miss her terribly and the sadness comes and goes, but i am at peace.

and peace for fizzgig and mr gig, too.

it would be hard for me to give up my house for that reason. many old friends interred here and there around the place.

and i'm thankful to my dad for opening a space to her. he's been in the house for 27 years and is unlikely to move for many, many years, so i know she's safe there.

hope you are well

the grief has been pretty challenging, but i'm hanging in there. the promise of spring is definitely helping.

At least you're feeling better about it though and have a place for her you can visit. I was never at all comfortable until I got the ashes from my doggies that passed away. I just feel better having their remains close.
