eating her food directly off the floor. My poodle Ty tips his food bowl over and dumps the food out to do just that. He hates eating from any kind of bowl or plate.

The dog in the video doesn't seem to be attacking her bowl in an angry way. She appears to be trying to dump the food out of it.

Dogs should never eat out of plastic bowls. Plastic harbers bad chemicals that can leach out into the food and can be cancer causing. Metal or ceramic bowls are best. Since ceramic can easily chip or break, I like the strong non-tip metal bowls with the rubber on the bottom to preent skating around the floor.

Dogs also shouldn't eat from these elevated food trays since it's bad for how they digest food by how they swallow it. Dogs are meant to eat with their head at a normal angle of pointing downward, so their food should be on floor level.

I never understood what these feeding trays were made for especially since they promote not cleaning the bowls as frequently as they should be.

I know megaesagophus is rare, and I personally know 1 dog who had it. I had an elevated bowl for Angel Duke for his arthritic comfort, I had an elevated water bowl in good weather outside, so the dogs hanging out with me while I did yard work had fresh water w/o the ants climbing into it.

But if not it risks choking, digestive problems, gas, bloat and all kinds of stuff like that. Most people get them as more of a fashion accessory that seems to try to make dogs more human as if they're eating at their own table.

They also tend to keep people from washing the bowls anywhere near as often enough which is so gross. When my next door neighbors had their Bull Mastiff they got one of these tray tables for him, and though they did use ceramic bowls they NEVER cleaned them. I had to feed him and let him out for a weekend once while they were away and nearly barfed when I saw how disgusting the bowls were even the one for water. And they couldn't figure out why he never wanted to drink water out of that bowl! Ugh, I'm getting nauseous just thinking about that again.

There's nothing worse than finding out how incredibly gross people can be in their own homes. When I was in my 20's I considered dating a guy that lived in my same apartment complex until I saw his bathroom. That place only had stand-up showers in the second bathrooms (the little one attached to the master bedroom) with glass sliding doors, and both the shower stall tile AND the glass doors were so completely covered with mildew you couldn't tell what color the tiles were or see through the glass! The toilet was even worse. And he always took his showers in that bathroom instead of the main apartment bathroom! Most foul thing in anyone's home I can recall. I couldn't even bring myself to pass through the doorway for fear of what foulness might attach itself to me. Needless to say I nixed the dating idea. He was such a clean cut and tidy looking guy, too. Never in a million years would I have imagined what his bathroom was like. Ugh, and he brushed his teeth in there!!!
