My border collie passed on Friday March 13. And now the two cats are in de facto hospice care. It has been a helluva spring and I have run out of ways to get animals to eat/drink when they don't want to do so.

(149,627 posts)I hope your two cats will get well, but if they can't, then you must let them go.
It's really hard to see them die...

(12,253 posts)It's not easy being a hospice kitty-mom and all the much harder from losing your border collie. If they won't eat or drink they are ready to die. Wishing peace to all of you.

(50,130 posts)Our big 22 pound tabby Koko. Down by ten pounds over the last two months. But thankfully he passed quickly and easily tonight. Now we just have one pet left, the little tabby girl Zelda. Skinny as a rail, but still with energy and still eating bits of chicken and cheese and milk. I did think she was going to die yesterday, but the details are too yucky to print here. Better today.

(12,253 posts)Zelda sounds like my little girl, Penny, who seemed to have lots of energy at the end, but I think she was just trying hard for me. I shed a few tears for Koko this morning. (and for you)
thanks, old pup pal
