For some reason....

Fantastik cleaner works like magic on dog pee. I'm talking about getting rid of the stain and getting rid of the stink. It's been a life saver for me these past few days.

I don't know why, but my terrier has suddenly started peeing in the house. Nothing else worked but the fantastik. The most maddening thing was the SMELL.

Out of sheer frustration to stop the peeing and to get rid of the smell, I hit the shops in search of something, anything that would work. I've tried the enzyme based cleaners from the pet stores. They did not work for me.

The fantastik bottle says it kills 99% of all bacteria. I'm thinking it must actually do that, because the smell is gone, and the dog has not peed since I started using it.

I've been having the same problem. My little Boston terrier, who's around 12 years old, has congestive heart failure and is on diuretic med, which makes her pee every 20 minutes or so. I have training pads down all over on the carpet, but she still manages to pee on the carpet if pads get moved enough to expose the carpet. I take her outside to pee in the daytime and I have pee pads in the bathtub for her at night, but sometimes I'm too late. On our wooden kitchen floor I have pads too, but it's impossible to keep them in place.

Anyway, I've been using Resolve pet stain remover and Resolve damp powder for pet stains, but I can't get rid of the pee smell. I am going to try Fantastic!

Poor little Abby. She is blind and mostly deaf on top of everything else. Our vet said we'll know it's time to say goodbye to her when she stops eating because it's too hard for her to eat and breathe at the same time, but that for now she is holding her own and the water pills are keeping her lungs clear enough for her to breathe.

Thanks again for the tip, inanna.

In my case, I had to be very thorough with the product. I even used a black light to locate "accidents" I couldn't see with the naked eye.

I sprayed the area thoroughly with fantastik, and then used a bucket of hot water and cloth to wipe.

Then I repeated the process twice more for each spot, each time using clean water in the bucket.

There have been no new accidents, so I'm thinking the product actually removes all the dog scent when used this way. At least it seems to?

I plan on keeping this stuff around!

I hope it works for you too.

Sorry to hear your poor baby isn't well.

Did you use hot water with the other cleaners?

Various Pet stain and odor removing products seem to work well for me, but using the hot water is a good idea and I think I will try that along with them. I would imagine the type of carpet or other surface the pee is on could make a difference also. We just had new carpet installed and I paid extra for a carpet pad that is made to resist urine and fight odors. I feels like it is plastic coated.

But the dog also kept hitting a small corner of the sofa. That took a bit more effort to deal with, even using the fantastik.

Using the black light, I found that special little corner of the sofa he seems to like so much. I saturated the area with the product. The entire time I'm doing this, the dog was watching me intensely.

I then blotted up the excess with micro fibre cloth. Then I repeated the process. Just to be on the safe side, I borrowed the hand held steamer thingy from my brother, and went over the area several times. When I used the black light again, nothing showed up.

The dog has sniffed around the area several times. But he hasn't peed there again since I've done this. Keeping fingers crossed!

So this might be a possible solution for carpeted areas? And yeah, I definitely think the hot water/steam also helps here.

Also! From reading the product info on amazon, it says it is for use on all surface, but it does not specifically state fabrics. In my case? I was willing to take my chances. So you might want to double check in your situation.

Thanks again, and thanks too for saying how you use it.

Yes, poor little Abby. She's not suffering at least, and she still loves her chew toys and mealtime. And Ty the poodle. And me 'n' Mr. froggy.

They have a trigger spray specifically for pet stains, but I find the regular works as well. It comes in different scents. I prefer the citrus. You can buy it by the gallon at Home Depot.
