(11,065 posts)I just don't think they give a crap what the heck is in what they call food... or anything else. The pollution in that country is astounding as well, so I just flat out don't trust anything that comes from there. Too damn many bad bad stories of toxic problems with food, building materials, and damn near everything.

(224 posts)I was shocked to see that the "organic" dried mushrooms where I work come from China. Needless to say, I don't buy those. All of our fresh produce is from the US and mostly local. The store even owns a farm.

(1,352 posts)China. I read and re-read the backs of anything I am thinking of getting for my dogs. I have now given up buying anything cheap and stick with the brand names. Even then you have to be careful.

(17,045 posts)Until now. I don't think they have always been manufactured poorly.
I'm not willing to take the chance, my babies mean more to me than anything!
the Smokehouse brand. I've now stopped, and am feeding them treats made up in Seattle. My dogs are too important to me to take chances..

(3,273 posts)Are they REALLY safer and what about the "Pinkslime"?
I think I'll just stick with giving my dogs chopped boiled eggs & chopped rotisserie chicken.
