I just had to take a baby bunny outside are golden who is nine year old male golden brought it into the house. And it was the bunny not even screaming bunny noises the golden he jumped up on the couch and was nesting with baby bunny. And he follows me outside oh man can I keep it I love the bunny. The rabbit was probably scared out its mind because boog are chocolate lab chases them and tries to catch them. The boog was down in lower pasture hanging with the horses when this happened thank goodness for that. Or it could have turned into a bad day for the rabbit, goldens are such sweet dogs there amazing. I do not know how he got the baby rabbit, boog the chocolate lab has caught em as well as well as black snakes a raccoon once , I'm amazed.

(24,259 posts)They're one of the sweetest tempered dog breeds I've known but they do tend to accumulate soft things like stuffies, etc.

.. Currently I am owned by two goldens and expecting one more end of June. I have had my goldens sniff and lay down next to a blind newborn field mouse that made its way into the middle of my living room ( whom I named Mousie and kept as a pet for SIX year)...to another gentle giant golden who mauled a kitten to death.. during play I am sure.
They consider squirrels to be Gods tennis balls and I am not sure what they would do to an adult cat since the neighbor cat taunts them to no end and sets them off in a chorus of barking.
But I have taken these current (and many past Goldens) to 'Golden get-togethers"...20+ goldens who have never met up before and they run and play and are happy as clams. No fighting! Of course when its time to go home you better make sure you have your own!
Goldens are happy happy happy dogs!!!!!

(25,321 posts)held in mouth and gave it to me. Unharmed, I took it back. The kitten followed us home.
My Golden wouldn't hurt a fly. I've had six over the years, had three at once for a spell. They were mostly retired service dogs or ones who didn't make it past the training period. Adopted my current buddy when he was 8, he needed a home and people in my Golden Retriever network hit me up.
