Wonder where my wife will sleep

Came to bed to read and our Golden retriever came with me. He had ulterior motives to snuggle, and he is laying on my wife’s side of bed. On his left side big golden paws touching the man, I covered him up with the blankets , He is out sleeping very sound.

We each hugged our edges of the mattress, but it became a disruption to our sleep and we had to find a solution.

We went from a queen set to a California King with the thought he'd have to pick one of us, as the bed was too big for him to touch both. How naïve can a couple be? We got the newly laundered bedding on the bed and looked forward to a decent night's rest in a long time. The dog was thrilled with our selection. After lying down and settling in, we suddenly realized we were back to square one. In order for the schnauzer to touch both of us at the same time, he changed his normal position and laid across the middle of the mattress with his front paws on one and his hind paws on the other. Back to hugging the edges.
