mushrooms, lettuce, onions, etc...you name it. My current dog eats NOTHING! No one believes me. She won't even eat chicken, cheese, chocolate (yes, I know it is bad), beef, eggs, etc. It is VERY frustrating since I want her to be heavier than average so when her health declines and her appetite supposedly diminishes she has a few fat pounds stored up. I even tried doggie marijuana treats to improve her appetite...didn't work either.

No ice cream either. No people or dog food, dry or wet. The thing that is really frustrating is that she will eat something a little bit for one day only, then I get excited assuming that I finally found the perfect food and she refuses to eat it ever again. I have bags and cans of opened dog food that I have had to give away over the years. People say , "She'll eat when she is hungry" but she doesn't. The vet said to do whatever I need to to get her to eat. The only thing that would work is to get another dog who wants to eat her food. When my parents babysit she eats the dog food in her dish if my parents' dog wants to eat it.

Hot dogs? Kentucky Fried Chicken (without the bones) is something many friends have mentioned as a tempting food.

I have a cat like that and have the same thing with leftover food. You might just have to get another dog.

I tried, fried anything with fat and salt, pot pie, etc and no luck. If I pretend I want some of the food she goes after it sometimes. It takes a long time and a few times she nipped me...OUCH! She is 15 years old and 7 pounds but she is fast and has sharp, little piranha teeth.

I feel your pain. With older furkids especially, it seems imperative that they keep eating. My picky cat is 19.
