We had two little pet painted turtles for years when I was a kid, Timmy and Tommy. This was before anyone thought they carried diseases.

I was about 4; I named them Myrtle and Fertile (they weren't). I've always liked turtles, but never expected to see one chasing a laser pointer dot.

They don't seem to think they are very different from their furry or feathered friends.

Very neat to see them feeling a kinship with the other critters.
