Two Bengal kittens saved in Maine after drunken woman repeatedly tosses them in pond

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/ny-news-drunk-woman-kittens-pond-20180710-story.html

Two little kitties are safe and sound after being tossed into a pond, thanks to an alert police officer in Maine.

Phippsburg Officer Zech Thomas arrived at Center Pond on July 4 to find a woman emerging from the water with two wet kittens, according to the Bangor Daily News.

Witnesses told cops that Justine Lovig had repeatedly thrown the gray Bengal kittens in the water, the newspaper reported.

Cops say Lovig covered the kittens in a T-shirt in her car and gave them part of an egg salad sandwich. Officer Thomas said the kittens looked like “they hadn't eaten in a very long time.

------------

Lovig failed a sobriety test and was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, cruelty to animals and a probation violation, according to the Bangor Daily News.

She will appear in court in September.

Beautiful kitty. She should be charged IMO as if the kitty were a human baby. n/t RKP5637 Jul 2018 #2

wrong of her actions and redeem herself. She may have been blackout drunk and not even realize what she was doing. Not everyone is an irredeemable piece of shit.

What can I say, the bleeding heart liberal comes out once in a while. I'm tired of automatic outrage....

Phenomena that could apply to ghastly immoral behavior, such as taking a life, any life, that they normally would not do.
Could this also apply to taking a child's life?

Blackout drunk usually just impairs the hippocampus.

Note, I did not say, in my post, what terrible punishment should be imposed upon this woman, because I do not know. Other posters in this thread have filled in that blank.

Not all people. But lately, we have sure seen a lot of sucky people, that would lead one to believe the majority of people suck. But, it is not true. Some people suck. Lots of people suck. Fortunately, not everyone sucks.

A Belton teenager has apologized for throwing a cat into a lake in a video that has been shared on social media, KCEN-TV reported.

The video shows two teenage boys, one holding a cat, standing on the rocky shore of what is thought to be Belton Lake. He throws the cat several feet into the water while a third teen films.

The video was originally posted on Snapchat and shared on Twitter on Monday.

The teen, who has not been named because he is a juvenile, told the station that the cat was "not harmed at all" and swam back to the shore.

"I now see that what I did was wrong and cruel, and I just want to apologize to everyone who was offended by the post," he told KCEN.
