"Why are you wearing a muzzle?"
I was going into the grocery store this morning and noticed a pit bull intently watching me from the driver's seat of a truck as he waited for his person. Back in the day, before we plunged into pandemic hell, I'd always say "Hi dog" when I'd see a dog waiting in a vehicle, imagining that they'd know what I was saying. Of course I couldn't do that because he was behind glass and I was wearing a mask.
It occurred to me that it probably looks like we're wearing muzzles, and these perplexed dogs are wondering what's up with that. Maybe they're feeling sorry for us.
