Best Cat Toy Ever

I got this for my kitties a couple of weeks ago and they surely do love it. All 8 of them play with it but some of them really enjoy it after dark. When I'm trying to sleep. They smack the little balls around and around. For what seems like hours, but I guess it's really only minutes. I try to get photos of them but they make it a real challenge .

If you are wanting to get something for your cat to play with, I highly recommend one of these.

My cats liked it for one day, but don't play with it now. Maybe they're too old. tblue37 Apr 2021 #1

is around 8. Don't know for sure as she was a feral rescue. She quite enjoys it. Cats are pretty persnickety, though, about toys. So, you never really know. I've been really impressed, though, with this toy's popularity here.

I bought one that could attach to a wall or door. The cat would play with it periodically just about every day.

Something like this, but I think it was a little different.

Playing with the manual one. It used to be America's best-selling cat toy. All my fosters went up for adoption with one in their folders to get their new lives off to a great start!

And I had to lie to the landlord. Haha.

People kept giving me their cats to keep for a while and then going overseas permanently or something.

The only problem was that the two orange boys (not related) HATED EACH OTHER.

I had to keep them in separate rooms for more than a year until, one day, the hate was over.

I have a wonderful 12 y/o kitty, and have tried virtually every toy, to no avail. I get the feeling with her that if a toy won't bleed, then any attempt to engage her in playing is infantalizing.

Meanwhile, she is gaining weight, despite my best efforts to control her intake & quality of food.

I'll try one of these! Ty!

Ty!

What is name of this 1?

I have seriously tried everything else, even remote control mechanical "mouse" toy. She wouldn't even look at it. Just resulted in same disgusted look: "It won't bleed." 😔

"It won't bleed."

This was the Cat Tracks Tower Toy from Chewy. It was on sale. Lots of places sell them. I would be sure to get a round one, not the triangle because I don't think the balls would roll as easily in that one, which is probably why it's cheaper.

I have had to train myself to beware of cat toys on the internet because I have spent a goodly amount on things that are now just piled in a corner somewhere because the cats just loved them for a day or two. Then, pfffft.

Me too. Many abandoned "mice," "fishing poles," etc., etc.

Poor kitty keeps getting rounder.

She needs to allow herself to play.

Ty for info. I'll let you know if it works!

Kitty here is fascinated with it, but doesn't accept it as a real cat. Because it's PURPLE.

My cat got a lot of exercise from chasing that red dot!

I later read some online articles about why it was supposedly "bad" for them psychologically, but I don't remember the details anymore. Maybe something about leaving them frustrated?

It never seemed to get tired of the chase!

Then the laser light broke and I didn't bother to replace it.

I've already had to replace one that wore out.

Also, she often gets a couple of treats when she's done racing around.

It would wander all over the place along the way, but then scamper back to me.

I pretended to be lost a couple times, and she would stop and meow while seemingly trying to direct me back home.

I thought about it years later, thinking that cat was so amazing to do that, but then I remembered that I always gave it treats after returning home. And I think I gave it treats the first time too, after she just happened to be down the street and followed me home that time too. So I think it mostly associated the activity with the treats, not that it was really concerned about me returning home.

Nonetheless, she's still my all-time favorite cat!
