The mystery of what Leo does while I'm at work has been solved!

We are closed today due to flooded roads. Right about 30 min after my normal departure time, he took up this spot and has not moved. He won’t move when I want to sit down and read. I moved him and now he’s disgruntled. I think the bed being unmade had him feeling extra happy and comfy.

What a beautiful guy. Medium-hair gingers are wonderful! I see telltale signs of maturity there with his cute melanin spots on his cute ginger nose! I'm sure he's a great "bed buddy!"

I’m partial to these guys and I love their rear leg ‘bloomers’ (hope you never have to shave them)!

He is a handsome little dude! He was a matted up, tick and flea infested forest-dwelling kitty when he wandered up on our patio. That very first day, he let me trim mats off his sides, pull ticks, and put flea meds on him. After that, I knew we were meant to be together.

The vet isn’t sure how old he is because of his former hard living. His teeth were a mess and all had to be pulled, so that was no help. She estimated “anywhere between 5 and 10.” What was horrifying were the BBs she found in his rump and back legs when they went to put the IV in for his first dental surgery. We were all apoplectic. And sad. I’m just glad he will never know that hard life ever again.

Edit to add: he gets weekly brushing with focus on his back legs and butt to keep his bloomers mat-free. Especially in the winter. His winter coat is something to behold, lol!

Laroux (a Maine coon I think) was Mr Casual (except when it came to his ears). When people came out to pay they had to write checks on him because he took up the whole front edge of the desk (never moved).
He’d jump into people’s cars in summer and they wouldn’t notice he was there until looking in the rear view mirror and see him just sitting upright in the back seat, so they’d turn around to bring him back.

One day he went across the street (there was NO keeping him inside) into the grocery store. We got a call and they said “Uh yah we got this cat here Buddy Laroux, um can you pick him up? He just walked into the store and sat behind the fish counter.” Sure, no problem.

Those were the days!

Can’t wait until I can have animals again. They are an endless source of joy, right?

Thanks for posting that picture - it brought a big smile and I’ll bet his purring is wonderful.
