Several months ago, I found out my friend was terminally ill and in home Hospice. I and several very kind people, posted and reposted the notice that she has to find a forever home for her two cats, Bubbles and Squeaks. We have not found a home for them yet. Please....if anyone has room for the sweet brother and sister tabbies, please help. Someone has stepped forward to aid in transporting them.
I would take them in a heart beat but I now have five cats since I inherited my mother's when she passed. I also have three rescued dogs. There is no room at the Inn sadly.

1. Have you tried posting through Face Book?

I don't know where you live but there are a lot of great groups that would share your information to get an even wider networking of your plea. I follow a lot of animal groups and rescuers on Face Book. Animal lovers are quick to share information on animals in need.

My house is full so I am not in a position to take anymore at this time.

2. Plenty of room at my 'Inn' :-)

SO and I are empty-nesters with my 27 year old daughter living hundreds of miles away.

In addition, for the first time in over 22 years, I find myself completely bereft of any furkids. In fact, today makes a year to the day that I had to I had to put my 19 year old cat to sleep- Then on Jan. 12th, my 12 year old dog. And more recently, a cat that I've had since late last August, disappeared. Needless to say, this has been a very depressing 12 months.

But, I digress, so getting back to Bubbles and Squeaks...

Are you familiar enough w/them to know their temperaments? And are they indoor kitties? Though I've never in my life had an entirely indoor cat, I'm now seriously considering it.

I don't know a lot about this sort of thing, but my guess is that I'd either need to get them as kittens in order to (hopefully) avoid the 'outdoor itch' -OR- If I were to opt for adult cats, they would probably have to have always been indoor cats. Or, so I would assume anyway... someone correct me if I'm wrong. I do know however, that I definitely want to have 2, so that they can keep each other company when no one is home.

Not sure if I'm ready yet at this point, though. Furthermore, I have not completely given up hope that my missing indoor/outdoor cat will return, even though things seem grim at the moment. He's a very loving kind of guy, but not fond of other cats. I found this out the hard way when I took in my sister's cat for a week while she was away.

So basically just sort of trying to find out more about your friend's kitties at this point. So sorry about her/him(?) btw....

On the up side, I can say that I certainly would prefer adult cats over kittens simply because they would probably have a harder time finding a forever home. I've been told by shelter people that most everyone wants kittens. And these two coming as a pair would probably make it even harder.

Have you tried advertising for a forever home for them in your local newspaper... or asked friends to check w/their friends? Also, FB (as someone already mentioned) might prove helpful.

My friend is not local to me. We are several States away. Someone has stepped forward to work on transporting them. He has made some connections. She is on the East Coast. I am in MN. We are like sisters.
They are 7 years old. Fixed and spayed brother and sister. They have gone out occasionally with supervision (leash) but are house cats (as well should be since this world is no longer friendly to critters with hungry animals, cars, etc.....).
They are gentle and laid back. Smart though. Apparently one rings a bell. lol!
Most of my cat rescues my whole life have been older and I have had many many years with them. I have five now that only one was actually "wanted" and the others would have either died, not been adopted after trying and trying and two have disabilities so.....
Older cats do not need the training which is great. Seven is not very old.
I am sorry for your losses. I lost two dogs and my favorite kit in the last year. Indeed it leaves a hole.

4. It would be wonderful if you could take them in.

It sounds like they would fit in with what you want, and it sounds like you need some fur love.

As to your lost kitty (so sad), one week is not long enough with cats for them to learn to get along with each other. Cats can take as long as a month to adjust to each other, so your lost cat may get more comfortable with time if he does come home.

6. If any of you belong to any pet groups on FB or are able to repost the Wishadoo request, it would be

very appreciated. This is a deeply dire situation. There are unfortunately too many homeless animals and many people wish for babies.
We have been looking for so long and I know these two are wonderfully sweet. Just older. Thank you.
