Sophie decided if I'm a good enough cat bed for the kittens, I'm good enough for her, too

So, just past midnight, when I was deep asleep, she woke me up so that I'd accommodate her sleeping location preference.

I finally had to move to the recliner because I just can't sleep on my back, and if I was on my side she'd pretty much put her entire front half on my head. Well, better than the other way, yea, but not conducive to sleep. Not that I slept much better on the recliner but at least I was more comfortable.

She's never done that, before. Usually she will wake me up at about 2, for some scritches, and then go back to where ever she's been sleeping. It's kind of like her newly developed desire to go outside. She's always been terrified of the outdoors, and now I even have to take her in IN THE RAIN so I can convince her it's not a good time for a stroll. I'm linking all of these behavior issues to the kittens. Well, after tomorrow there will just be two, so hopefully she'll settle down because I'm becoming VERY sleep deprived.

Fingers crossed she will let me take a nap, this afternoon.

Nothing in our home or lives changed. I am always puzzled when I see him or our Sophie exhibit new behaviors. The husband says they learn things watching animal shows on TV. I can't explain it, I wonder if he's right? Sounds like you had a fun summer raising the kittens ❤️ I fostered years ago, best time I ever had. Will hopefully do it again in the future when I retire.

From being frightened and almost totally helpless, to little fur balls of energy. I was still having to bottle feed them and stimulate their little hind ends to get them to poop and pee. I could 'contain' them in a card board box.

Now they are gobbling down kitten food and water, and trust me - their litter boxes are well used. I'm running out of things high enough to close them into the den (for some STUPID reason, when this house was built, they didn't include a den door). Once I'm down to 2, I think I'm going to give up and hope that Sophie Stinky Toes will continue to adjust to the new members of the family. Or, just ignore them. That would be fine, too.

It definitely has been hard work dealing with the kittens during the day, and often having to spend a big part of the nights comforting and paying extra attention to Sophie. I can't even begin to imagine fostering AND working a full time job.

Maybe I went a bit over the top in spending time with them but these were totally feral kittens when I took them in, and I suspect that takes a bit more time AND devotion to overcome.
