Oh I felt
So miserable,
overheated,nauseated.
I was going to take a couple of pepto pills and lay down. Felt sleepy.
But before I closed my eyes Othello wouldn't leave me alone.
As I lay down he climbed next to me on the bed as I tried to think of what I ate that could be making me sick.
Than he started sniffing my breath.
So I tested my blood sugar level it was :41
I have just eaten a small handful of skittles. Starting to feel better and the nausea is gone.
Thank you my sweetheart. Bast lives within you, Othello you are my most awesome blessing.
And Othello hasen't left my side after that.
I so love my sweet one. Sacred as he is precious..

(3,327 posts)I'm so glad you have, such a prescient kitty by your side. Take good care of yourself, stay well, and don't stray too far from the wonderful, Othello. He's a gift!

(9,186 posts)As the ER nurse told me last year when my blood sugar spiked to 440: 440 wont kill you, but zero will. Six days later, I experienced the same symptoms you described.
For some reason they took my blood sugar at 1 AM and it was 42. It took five or six juice boxes and several packages of graham crackers before it got back near 100. I didnt recognize it, because low sugar usually makes me feel clammy and weak, but it had never been that low before. Lesson learned.
Othello deserves a treat.

(34,074 posts)If you can manage control with diet or diet + metformin, it is safer. (Not always possible, and definitely not if you are T1, but if you can manage it lots safer.)
Good for Othello.

(6,556 posts)So glad you have a "nurse" kitty to support you. I have a "nurse" kitty named Halle who is my guardian. When I have a flare, she is right beside me, including massages, until I feel better. We are truly blessed by these furry caregivers! Thank you, Othello!
