Good night, sweet Sebastian
Sebastian passed away around noon today after a long battle with kidney failure.
Sebastian came into my life in July 2000 when he picked me out at the Seattle Animal Shelter. I was so honored! He was estimated to be around 4 or 5 years old at the time, making him 16 or 17 at his passing. He was handsome --- brown tabby Maine Coon mix with a huge bottle-brush tail. He was also smart. When you looked at him, you could almost see the wheels turning in his brain. He had great interpersonal and interfeline skills. He got along with everyone.
The vet helped him pass. He is now free of the body that failed him.
Thank you, Sebastian, for being my familiar for so many years.

How sad - it is always sad when a friend die - but you have the memories - and he will be around you - if not in body, then in spirit.

but I know from experience that I can't. You have all my sympathy, especially since this is exactly how I lost my Loki, a beautiful American Shorthair. Perhaps he'll welcome Sebastian to where all good cats go.
to my eyes .. as I myself have said too many goodbyes . We love them so much it's hard to imagine life without them, but I know they will all be waiting for us by the bridge!
May all of the good years you shared bring a smile to your face and he will live in your heart forever...
You were so good for each other and to each other, I know you will miss him forever. It's a tough decision to make, but you know you saved him from a future that held nothing but pain and frustration. My thoughts are with you and my heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Sebastian is at peace now, and you were there to help him on his final journey. He had a long and great life with you all these years. Damn, does it ever hurt so bad to lose our fur babies.
As I see my group of four kits dwindle to the one remaining, who is my "boy", I think I'll look at each day remaining with more appreciation.
I wish you great comfort. You were lucky to have him, and he to have you.
