(3,328 posts)Kittens in full growth need power siestas, so they can go on their next adventure. Thanks, for the updates and pictures. What good companions for each other, and you.
I learned how to not be in perpetual motion, and that it's good to savor the moment, of being in the mere presence of my pet companions.

(26,268 posts)Scooter is a bit of a challenge, although I was allowed to give some prolonged scritches, this morning.
Skittish and Spooky are at an age where they will probably forever be feral but as long as they show up, I'll keep feeding them.
Hope at least one of them makes it inside before it get frigidly cold. I know you've set up some shelter for them, but there's nothing like a warm home.

(16,426 posts)That's what it looks like to me, but it's hard to be sure.
Either way, that sleepy little face makes me want to curl up and take a (late) afternoon nap!
They are so funny to watch - wrestling with each other one minute, snuggling with each other the next.

By the way, here are three of mine. The Siamese was a stray, definitely not feral, but I couldn't find his owner. The gray and white guy was a little feral kitten I found under my porch. The comically lazy one in the center is the feral kitten's mom, whom I took in and spayed. Amazingly, she is tame and relaxed now, even though she was about three when she became a house cat.

(26,268 posts)I am so hopeful I can get Mittens the Kitten socialized and acclimated to indoor living. And I won't get up on Scooter.

(8,203 posts)They got used to me petting them outdoors as kittens or adolescents when they came by for food. I've got one snoozing on the couch next to me now whom I picked up and brought inside when she was about six months old. (I knew I had to get her spayed asap.) I lured another in by putting her food dish just inside the door while the other cats were upstairs. Sadie can still get startled, and she is definitely shy with strangers. But she head bumps me and sleeps on the bed now, although she still grabs treats from my hand with all the gentleness of a snapping turtle.
