Related: About this forumWell, I now have my first 'sink cat'
Apparently it's the best seat in the house to observe me taming my bed head, which might explain the expression on Madoc's face.

(13,541 posts)few sink cats. Had one that liked to sleep in the sink occasionally when she was young, but grew out of that phase.

(23,147 posts)She would sit by the spickets, bap the handle several times until she had the desired flow, then put her head down so the water ran over it and drank the water as it dripped down. Strange kitty. When she got older, she'd actually drink from the flow directly instead of putting her head in the flow.
When we moved, none of the spickets were loose enough for her for years. Several years later, I saw her in one of the bathrooms bapping the handle to turn it so she could have her drink. She just loved the fresh flowing water but hated the electronic hum of fountains.

(3,537 posts)Hed jump in the tub and then stare at the faucet until Id turn on a little drip flow. Then hed lick the water and watch it, fascinated. Id find him sleeping there at all hours.

(2,572 posts)They're somewhat crazier than the notably deranged Siamese Cats. He reveled in the name "Hastur The Unspeakable".
Every morning, when I took my shower, he'd hop in with me and frolic around under the spray, then sit down, tilt his big-eared head back and have a nice, long drink.
Did I mention that he was nuts?

(21,564 posts)(when it's dry) to hide behind the shower curtain. Sometimes she ambushes me from there. Other times she just peeks out at me for a game of peek-a-boo. As a kitten, she loved carrying a ball into the empty tub and swatting it up the sides over and over as it rolled back to her. Kitty version of a squash game.

(4,552 posts)I think they like it because it is cooler. Harper will leave the room when the wood stove is hot.

(11,637 posts)She will only drink running water from the sink not standing water in a bowl. Whenever anyone enters the bathroom shes standing in the sink waiting and yells at you which means Im thirsty! That means turn on the water at a trickle she will drink awhile then put her head under and wash her face. When you go on vacation have to leave the sink trickling too!

(1,389 posts)She does so enjoy doing everything with us. We started doing all of these crazy things with her litter box. Took her to the vet to make sure that she didnt have a UI. But no, she just saw what we did and realized that the universe has provided her with one that is just her size. CATS!

(11,122 posts)Though not our first sink cat, our latest sink cat likes it in the sink with the water dribbling. Of course, then he likes to come curl up in our lap - wet furry bottom and all.

(21,564 posts)as a kitten. Kept trying to figure out where the water went when I drained the kitchen sink.
She never got into the bathroom sink, but used to sit on the toilet tank next to it to watch me, very close up, as I brushed my teeth. Caught her one day with her mouth around the toothbrush in its holder on the counter. I put the new replacement toothbrush inside the medicine cabinet after that.
