Related: About this forumMadoc is proving to be quite the Drama Queen. Well, maybe Drama Prince.
I bought this very dapper collar and put it on him, this morning. Suffice it to say that it isn't being well received. Apparently it's so HEAVY it impedes his ability to move. Well, unless a treat is offered. Then he's pretty mobile. Hopefully he will adjust because I think it makes him even handsomer. (Naturally it's a quick release collar.)
After he tried to wiggle free, he hid behind the couch. Then under my bed. Then under a dining room chair. Now he's finally out in the open and back to sitting behind me. Pouting. (According to his sibling's mom, the #1 Drama Queen title is a close race between him and his brother, Cinder.)

(26,268 posts)Right now he's back on my lap, snuggling and starting to act more like himself.
Boudicca used to shred the fabric on her collars and that fabric stood up and out like a punk rocker's collar. My best friend's cats used to do the same thing. After a while she adjusted. Sophie never minded wearing a collar.
I have one for Gryff but the boys found and HID it.

(57,073 posts)Poor Madoc!
Very handsome collar!
Uh oh, he has the "I'm gonna poop in your shoe" look... 😰
Is Gryff sporting new duds this morning, too? Taking his "torture" well?

(26,268 posts)I still have the bow tie collar that Gryff thought he destroyed. He didn't count on me being so handy with needle and thread. The one they hid is a leopard print that I think would be perfect for him. I will NOT give up on my search!!
A conspiracy!
Oh leopard print would be pefect for Gryff!
Little buggers.
Good luck finding collar! Won't they be shocked when you find it & put it on him?

(86,646 posts)The 6+ yo male who used to be the king of the property at my previous residence. I don't have a yard here and it's hard for him to be indoors all day and night so his human and I tried a variety of collars and harnesses so we could take him out on a leash. When any of them are put on him, he fights for about two seconds and then just lays on the floor on his side like he's been defeated but will not participate in this evil plot!

(26,268 posts)But then, the last 6 months of her life she LOVED to wear her harness and go for strolls around the yard. It was so strange but I'm glad she decided it was a good thing to do.
Boudicca fought the harness before I could ever get one on her.
I still have both harnesses so I'm going to see if the boys will cooperate and maybe take them for a quick (and separate) stroll in the next snow we get.

(115,733 posts)I always take the bells off of new collars because the jingling annoys me, and I assume it annoys the cat, too, because they prefer to sneak silently through the house and pounce on you when you least expect it.
Or else he is just doing the normal cat thing.

(26,268 posts)But I've wondered if that is bothering him. He does seem to be getting more comfortable with it. Gryff's collar, that the boys hid, doesn't have a bell but then he also doesn't try to sneak out into the garage or back porch.
