Related: About this forumI caved and took the collar off of Madoc
While I was standing at the stove, making Goulash, he kept jumping up and bumping/rubbing against me and the cabinets. Then he sat right at my feet and started the saddest string of 'meows' I've ever heard. And he RARELY vocalizes. It was as if he was pleading with me. Add to that the sad, sad look on his face. He was really tugging on my heart strings.
The instant I removed it, it was as if I flipped a switch. He was back to his rambunctious self.
So, yes, Madoc won. But that's ok.

(65,403 posts)Especially bell collars, because they have such acute hearing. I worry the bell sound might really bother them.
Outdoor cats probably need (breakaway) collars to avoid being mistaken for strays, but indoor cats don't need such identifiers unless they often get out without permission.
I'm glad Madoc persuaded you. It looked adorable on him, though, I must admit.

I just wanted to see how Madoc would do, and now I know. He's far too precious to me to ever want him to be uncomfortable.
Admittedly, I do worry about him getting out because he is VERY stealthy, and if he did I'd want him wearing an identity tag with contact info. I'll just have to be extra vigilant.

(65,403 posts)get your adorable boys chipped, if they aren't already. It costs so little, and it could make such a difference if they ever got lost. Shelters and vet offices automatically check that now on any "found" or picked up kitties brought in.

(26,268 posts)He wore the bow tie one just fine, despite ripping off the actual tie part.

I've had dogs behave oddly when I put a sweater on them.
