Related: About this forumI have never had a cat show me as much affection as does Gryff
Every morning he picks a time to cuddle. No matter what I'm doing, it has to stop. He jumps up on my lap and nuzzles, snuggles, makes biscuits, does turns around my lap, more nuzzles, cuddles, purrs and head rubs and all the while he is coo'ing. This can go on and on and on until Madoc decides it's time to wrestle so he needs to break up the party. Sometimes he wants an afternoon session.
Madoc's snuggle time always happens just before bedtime. He curls up in my arms, purrs, and accepts lots and lots of chin scritches. Then he stretches out next to me and dozes off.
Oops - just heard a whiffle ball bounce off of the wall. That's Gryff's signal that it's time to play fetch.

(112,422 posts)Good hooman, good partner cat to play with, plenty of toys to play with and things to scratch, food, water, heat, a clean litter box. That's paradise for a cat.

(26,291 posts)I get a kick out of his coo'ing, rather than meowing. It used to be an occasional thing but now he sounds like a regular old pidgeon!
Madoc still reserves his voice for meal time. He's VERY talkative while I prepare their dishes.

(57,073 posts)My elder girl is very talkative too, for skritches & when she wants food.
Gotta love them!

(22,919 posts)She'll climb up on me with her front paws on my shoulder. I lightly spank her butt and she starts drooling. When she shakes her head and sets her drool flying, I stop and feed her.

(26,291 posts)Gryff demand belly rubs. He drops down in front of me, when I'm walking down the hallway, and rolls belly up. Pure bliss.

(9,273 posts)Thats my Charlie as well. Hes not crazy about my 3 year old granddaughter, who I have here during the day. (She has cats at home and is always respectful and gentle with mine but he still dislikes little kids). He will hide when shes here and eventually come out, plop himself on my lap like hes saying this is MY Mom-Mom too! And when the little one goes home hes attached to me. He pretty much ignores my husband even though he fills their food bowl most of the time.

These boys have such different personalities - Madoc is VERY feisty while Gryff is more of a snuggle bug. Gryff LOVES to chase and play fetch with the whiffle balls while Madoc will chase them but isn't too interested in them, once they stop moving.
Madoc instigates most of the wrestling matches. Gryff instigates most of the allogrooming.
They are just different enough to be a perfect pair.
