Wow - Gryff finally meowed!! (Oh, and Madoc just turned on the vacuum cleaner)

I was in the kitchen making a Shepard's Pie, and he started circling me and meowing in the softest, sweetest little voice. I thought I was hearing things so I leaned down and he did it, again!

I think he wants some Shepard's Pie but it contains onions and garlic. I had some roasted chicken leg quarters in the fridge, and gave him a few shreds, instead. He seemed to like it but I suspect he KNOWS the Shepard's Pie would be much tastier.

Anyway, I'm chuffed he finally gave such a nice vocalization.

As for Madoc - who knows. Maybe he found out I fed Gryff some chicken.

4. I'll tell you this - that unexpected sound made me jump!

I couldn't figure out what the heck it was.

Madoc was sitting there, waiting for me and then he scooted off. Gryff had already taken shelter.

They've both been on a real tear, this weekend. Now they are napping, because I put a fire in the fireplace.

6. Ember got over her fear of the vacuum cleaner

the same day that she conquered my hair dryer. She was about 10 months old.

She sat on the toilet lid to watch me dry my hair, which was a big change from running whenever I turned it on. But she waited until I turned it off to give it a few conquering swats.

Shortly afterward, I opened a closet door to take out the vacuum. Before I got it out of the closet, Ember rushed in and gave it several thwacks. I guess she was feeling brave and triumphant after beating up the hair dryer.

Now, whenever I vacuum, she sits on something high enough to feel safe and watches until I'm done.

cat that hated the vacuum and he would bite the cord while I was using it! He was trying to kill the monster I guess 😸

Both have been sleeping for most of the afternoon. Hopefully they will behave themselves tonight. They've been pretty good, the past few nights.
