Bad news on the kitten front

I got the last of the litter of kittens from the hoarders this morning and immediately took all four for their first vet visit. One of them turned up a positive parvo test. We’re going to retest tomorrow in hopes it’s a false positive.

With puppies there's at least a 50% survival rate. A doctor in Australia claimed good outcome with using injectible vit. C, but I've never been able to find follow-up on it. The best of luck to the little ones!!!

Upon investigating, I'd heard of FIP, feline panleukemia virus. Same thing. Also AKA feline enteritis.

Since you're an animal lover, you may have dogs. Feline parvo doesn't transfer to canines... but canines can transfer the virus to cats.

It's more commonly referred to a panleukopenia when it comes to cats. Not uncommon in stray kittens.
