Related: About this forumI have my baby boy home!!
He meowed the entire drive home. Probably a good thing I don't speak meow. Once we were home he showed little attitude, just to make me feel guilty, and they pulled the sad face but now he's purring and exploring and asking for scritches. I am most content.

(26,268 posts)And that's aside from the drive home. I might just have a meower, here. Both Madoc and Gryff are relatively quiet, except when Madoc wants food or Gryff wants affection.
Both Sophie and Boudicca were very vocal cats. I kind of miss that so maybe Arthur will fill the void.
Scooter, the feral cat, has started meowing when I bring out the food. She has taken on a lot of sweet Mittens the Kitten's behaviors - running up to me, meowing, darting back and forth REALLY close by and now letting me get in a few scritches while she eats.

All of my cats have been pretty silent, including my Siamese babies. Heck, even my dog, an Alaskan Mal, only howled rarely.

(21,487 posts)half Siamese who chatted constantly. It was really kind of funny that, as soon as I walked in the door after work, he would start talking, as if filling me in on his day. I would say things like, "Is that right? And then what happened?" He would respond. This went on while I fixed dinner and he watched. My husband used to crack up laughing at how long these conversations would go on.

(31,028 posts)I left my cat alone for a few days one time and when I got home he cussed at me for a solid hour. Not sure what he was saying but Im sure it was feline profanity

(86,647 posts)I can guess that all that vocalizing is a whole bunch of WTF!
He'll forget by next week and won't recall it until the next time he has to go for a ride in the car.
Mikey, after being traumatized, was actually very quiet our hour long drive back to my place. When I took him to the vet he was reluctant to get in the carrier but once we got back to my place, he was happy. He ate and crashed out for most of the rest of the day. After shots, that's the normal routine.
So far, he's been accepting of the outdoor protocol, he knows he can't go far but is getting bolder now that he's feeling better. He still comes when he's called, I think he knows that we'll go out again so he seems to be okay with it. He also has a perch at each of three windows where he spends a lot of his time watching the wildness beyond our housing lot.
I'm glad Arthur is home and getting back to his normal.

(16,426 posts)I love the first pic! In the second one he's his usual sweet self, looking as angelic as ever, but in the first one, he's showing a different side of himself, and it's fun to see that. Attitude, indeed!

(26,268 posts)He's just exploring everything. I expect I will soon find him snoozing in the most agreeable sun beam.

(14,577 posts)were so freaked out. And when we picked them up they were SO glad to see us. They were rescues from a barn where their third sibling froze to death, and they really, really love us. And we them.

(115,735 posts)I love to hear meows. My one remaining cat seldom meows, but she trills and hums quite a bit. The porch cat, Mr. Cat, now meows when he sees me, which I take as a sign that he's becoming a little less feral.
Great to see Arthur and his ears back home, chatting you up.
