Since coming inside, Eira, who yesterday escaped, hid, and nailed me when I found her, has always been very, very timid. When I did pick her up she was like a little statue. She just sat and stared ahead. Today she curled up on my lap, gave me an abundance of kisses on the face and arm, and started purring up a storm. She spent well over an hour on my lap either grooming or sleeping or giving me kisses.
Carys, who escaped today, has been doing better and made great strides at being socialized. Gwyn has been there, almost from the start.
So maybe tomorrow I'll see how things go if they are allowed to be outside of the playpen. I know they won't be here much longer. Well, maybe Carys, for a little while but I think she now has a forever home like up, too.

(191 posts)I had to make my first post about kittens. I'm so worn out from today's hearing; kittens it is. One of my best friends is a cat rescuer so, kudos to you for caring for the little ones. =^..^=

(2,749 posts)If my dog, Mr. Finn, wouldn't terrorized a kitty, I would adopt another one.

(7,475 posts)Wish I could adopt a new kitty but I worry about my health and ability to care for a new cat. About a month gone now since my special friend had to be euthanized. I can't get over it. All of her stuff is now gone. I'm too old and worry about caring for a new kitty. Also, in my neck of the woods, it costs $250 to adopt a shelter kitty. I have no money.
For the past 40 years or so, we had wonderful furry kitties as friends and companions. I'm now too old and alone. Caring for a pet is a responsibility and I can't take it on now. Sure miss my special friend. She had been with me since my husband died. There is a great void in the house now.

(26,291 posts)I think her breakthrough case is a really mild one. Still not even running a temp.
I got my booster and flu shot so I was running a low grade and was pretty tired, today. I take it again, tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I'll be ok.

(21,611 posts)Turns out that Ira, or eyera is correct. It means "snow" in Welsh.

(26,291 posts)but we think they are about 4 lbs.
Scooter was still occasionally nursing them about a week ago. They are definitely bigger than the other two litters I rescued and they were 3 and 4 weeks old.
BigmanPigman
(51,630 posts)However, I am no judge of cats' size since I only fostered 1 kitten and the rest were adult dogs and puppies. My Chihuahua puppy was 2 1/2 pounds at 8 weeks and 7 pounds full grown.

(26,291 posts)It wouldn't surprise me if Gwyn doesn't grow the same.
I thought Madoc would be a smaller cat because he was SO small when I brought him in. I was wrong. Really, really wrong.

(26,291 posts)Racing back and forth in front of me. I haven't seen her sitting on the deck, looking for her babies.
I've moved them into the den, now. Tomorrow I will give them a little play time outside of the playpen.
wnylib
(21,611 posts)So, I think it wouldn't be a big adjustment for her to not have them. I wonder how much she knows or understands about you taking them inside.
If she saw the previous litters going inside, it didn't stop her from bringing her own around for food. She trusts you with her babies, I think.

(26,291 posts)Now they are getting pate and they are LOVING it.
I can't wait for tomorrow because today was such a success.
